Preview: Rise Academy Guardians vs. Life Christian Academy Eagles
Rise Academy is 2-8 against Life Christian Academy since December of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Rise Academy Guardians will head out on the road to challenge the Life Christian Academy Eagles at 6:00 p.m. One thing working in Rise Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last ten games.
Rise Academy pushed their score all the way to 68 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. The game between them and The Carmel School wasn't particularly close, with Rise Academy falling 83-68.
Meanwhile, Life Christian Academy was beaten by Evergreen Christian 82-53 on Friday. While losing is never fun, Life Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 219th, while Evergreen Christian is ranked 34th).
Rise Academy's loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Life Christian Academy, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season.
Rise Academy was taken down by Life Christian Academy 60-29 in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Rise Academy was down 37-10.
