Basketball Game Preview: NSU University Sharks vs. Bishop Verot Vikings

The NSU University Sharks and the Bishop Verot Vikings will face off at 8:40 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. NSU University knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Bishop Verot likes a good challenge.

NSU University is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They were the clear victor by a 76-51 margin over Naples on Friday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Sharks with their most commanding win of the season.

Meanwhile, Bishop Verot didn't have too much trouble with Ferguson on Friday as they won 72-55. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 96th, while the Falcons are ranked 592nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

NSU University better keep an eye on Austin Leslie. He was instrumental in Bishop Verot's win, dropping a double-double on 32 points and 12 boards. With that strong performance, Leslie is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game. Another player making a difference was Gavin Williams, who went 10 of 13 en route to 22 points and six rebounds.

Bishop Verot's win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.4 points per game. As for NSU University, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
