Preview: Dayton Bulldogs vs. Oakesdale Nighthawks
The Dayton Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Oakesdale Nighthawks at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Dayton will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings (they are ranked 359th, while Oakesdale is ranked 122nd).
On Tuesday, Dayton beat River View 38-27. The win was just what Dayton needed coming off of a 55-29 defeat in their prior matchup.
Dayton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Marissa Tupling led the charge by scoring ten points. Another player making a difference was Jaelynn Chapman, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, Oakesdale can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 84-24 win over Cusick on the road. Oakesdale's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Dayton's win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-13. As for Oakesdale, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.
Dayton was dealt a bruising 65-13 loss at the hands of Oakesdale when the teams last played on January 6th. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Dayton was down 37-11.
