Soccer Game Preview: Whitehouse vs. Mt. Pleasant

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Whitehouse take on the Mt. Pleasant at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Whitehouse's defense has only allowed 0.5 goals per game this season, so Mt. Pleasant's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Whitehouse took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand Texas a 3-0 shutout. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by three goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, Mt. Pleasant was not the first on the board last Friday, but they got there more often. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Lufkin 2-1. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 194th, while the Panthers are ranked 516th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Whitehouse has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 14 goals over those five games. As for Mt. Pleasant, their record is now 7-2-1.

Whitehouse might still be hurting after the 4-0 defeat they got from Mt. Pleasant in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Whitehouse avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
