Baseball Recap: Tate Takes a Loss

After flying high against Central last Thursday, Tate came back down to earth. Tate fell just short of the Robertsdale Golden Bears by a score of 5-4 on Friday.

Keelan Beasley was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits.

At the plate, Tate saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nathan Ozuna, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.

Tate's loss dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Robertsdale, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-11.

Tate and Robertsdale could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in their respective state rankings. Tate will take on Gulf Breeze at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday down 93 places (127 vs. 34). Meanwhile, Robertsdale (ranked 110th) will meet Fairhope (ranked 32nd) at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
