Kendall Gregg spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Briar Goda made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one double.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Brownsburg, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 victory over Franklin Central on Thursday.
Drew Jennings looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
On the hitting side, Brownsburg saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Colin McNeer, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That stolen base was McNeer's first of the season. Another was Jackson Wagner, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Brownsburg is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for Terre Haute North Vigo, their loss dropped their record down to 10-7.
Terre Haute North Vigo suffered a grim 8-0 defeat to Brownsburg in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Patriots avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
