Baseball Recap: Roy Takes a Loss

Roy had lost five straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped down to 6-12 to make it six. They lost 18-9 to the Fremont Wolves. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-1 on Tuesday.

As for Fremont, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-5. The result was nothing new for the Wolves, who have now won seven games by eight runs or more so far this season.

For Fremont's part, they let Bodee Hawkins and Kasen Pearson run wild. Hawkins went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base, while Pearson went 2-for-4 with four runs, two RBI, and one double. Those four runs gave Pearson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Landon Palmer, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

While Roy had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
