Softball Recap: Center Grove's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to 14

It's playoff time, and Center Grove had no trouble coming through when it counted. They never let the Avon Orioles get on the board and left with a 1-0 win on Tuesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-9 back in May.

Kara Biever looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Center Grove's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Taylor Barrett, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases. That's the most stolen bases Barrett has posted since back in April.

The win was the 14th in a row for Center Grove, bringing their record up to 24-3. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Avon, they moved to 11-18 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Center Grove nor the Orioles have any future games scheduled.
