Baseball Recap: Walton Comes Up Short

Walton came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Sidney Team, falling 16-3. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Team recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Walton saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Graham Picinich, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one RBI. That hit marked the first that Picinich has got this season.

Walton's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Sidney, their record now sits at 6-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Walton will head out to challenge Harpursville at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Sidney, they will venture away from home to take on Bainbridge-Guilford at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Team's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bobcats have averaged an impressive 8.6 runs per game this season.
