The Apache Junction Prospectors will head out on the road to challenge the Globe Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Apache Junction is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.
Apache Junction will bounce into Monday's contest after beating Combs, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Prospectors came out on top against the Coyotes by a score of 7-2 on Friday.

Dylan Hunsaker was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. He is becoming a predictor of Apache Junction's success: when he posts at least eight strikeouts the team is 4-1 (and 7-9 when he doesn't). Hunsaker was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Rhett Ruiz was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Jaiden Montalvo was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.
Apache Junction kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
The scorekeeper got an easy start on Wednesday as neither Globe nor Seton Catholic made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Tigers came up short against the Sentinels, falling 9-1. The Tigers just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.
Apache Junction now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Globe, their loss dropped their record down to 9-13.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Apache Junction has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Globe struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Apache Junction beat Globe 6-1 in their previous meeting on April 3rd. Will the Prospectors repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
