Baseball Game Preview: Batavia Blue Devils vs. Honeoye Falls-Lima Cougars

The Batavia Blue Devils will face off against the Honeoye Falls-Lima Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Friday as neither Batavia nor Mendon made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Blue Devils might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 7-1 to the Vikings, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Honeoye Falls-Lima's offense. They fell just short of Brockport by a score of 2-0 on Friday.

Jacob Weber spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Honeoye Falls-Lima saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carson Meehan, who went 1-for-3 with one triple.

Batavia's loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Honeoye Falls-Lima, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-14.

Batavia skirted past Honeoye Falls-Lima 4-3 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Do the Blue Devils have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cougars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
