Recap: Springport Spartans vs. Union City Chargers

The Springport Spartans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 37 points or more this season. They blew past Union City 56-19 on the road. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 39-4.

Leading Springport to victory were Brenna Crittenden and Maddux Locke. Crittenden scored 17 points along with four steals, while Locke scored 22 points along with seven assists and six steals. The contest was Locke's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Chloey Speer, who scored six points along with three steals.

Springport pushed their record up to 3-1 with that victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Union City, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Springport won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Homer at 7:00 p.m. on December 20th. Homer will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings (they are ranked 273rd, while Springport is ranked 136th). Union City will be home for the holidays to greet Athens at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Athens comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
