Basketball Recap: Guthrie Takes a Loss

If Guthrie was riding high fresh off their 71-43 takedown of Nathan Hale last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Guthrie Bluejays took a blow against the Collinsville Cardinals on Friday, falling 69-35. The matchup marked the Bluejays' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Guthrie dropped their record down to 1-7 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Collinsville, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-4.

Guthrie wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, an 89-57 defeat against East Central on the 21st. As for Collinsville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 66-60 loss against Shawnee on the 21st.
