Volleyball Recap: Abigail May Key Part of Team Effort in Thunder Win

St. James Academy won the last time they faced Great Bend and things went their way on Saturday too. The Thunder came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 2-0. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Thunder as it put an end to their three-match losing streak.

The win didn't come easy: Great Bend scored at least 20 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-20.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead St. James Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Abigail May, who had nine digs and two aces. That's the most aces May has posted over her last six matchups. Sarah Rawlings also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

St. James Academy's record now sits at 16-6. As for Great Bend, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-7.

St. James Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Saint Thomas Aquinas on the 30th. As for Great Bend, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-1 loss against Blue Valley on the 27th.
