Basketball Recap: Bridgeport Takes a Loss

Bridgeport was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Decatur Eagles, falling 79-57. While losing is never fun, the Bulls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 843rd, while the Eagles are ranked 197th).

It was another big night for Javen Colbert, who went 10-for-18 from beyond the arc to rack up 44 points and four steals for Decatur. The contest was Colbert's 14th in a row with at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Adan Gonzalez, who posted 11 points in addition to five assists and three steals.

Bridgeport's defeat dropped their record down to 13-19. As for Decatur, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 26-8 record this season.

Bridgeport does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Decatur, they will head out to square off against Eastern Hills at 8:00 p.m. on February 18th. Decatur is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.9 points per game this season.
