Baseball Recap: Vicksburg Takes a Loss

After flying high against Greenville last Saturday, Vicksburg came back down to earth. The Vicksburg Gators came up short against the Pearl Pirates on Friday, falling 18-4. The loss continues a trend for the Gators in their meetings with the Pirates: they've now lost eight in a row.

Vicksburg saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kolten Thomas, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one triple. Those three RBI gave Thomas a new career-high.

Vicksburg's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Pearl, their victory ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-6.

While Vicksburg had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
