Baseball Game Preview: Avonworth Antelopes vs. South Park Eagles

For the second straight game, Avonworth will face off against South Park. The Antelopes will be playing at home against the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Avonworth 2.2, South Park 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Avonworth is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering South Park just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 8-7. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Declan Ehrin was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

South Park pushed their record up to 11-3 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Avonworth, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 8-1 and their overall record down to 13-3-1.
