Baseball Recap: Burges Takes a Loss

The Burges Mustangs came up short against the Santa Teresa Desert Warriors on Wednesday, falling 10-3. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Evan Ortiz made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Matthew Recio was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Burges' loss dropped their record down to 4-8-2. As for Santa Teresa, they pushed their record up to 7-2 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Burges will host Jefferson at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Santa Teresa, they will be taking part in a tournament against Thoreau at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. Santa Teresa is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season.
