Basketball Game Preview: Hamilton Cardinals vs. Abingdon/Avon Tornadoes

The Hamilton Cardinals and the Abingdon/Avon Tornadoes will face off at 3:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.

Hamilton's tournament run continued when they took on Havana on Thursday. Hamilton came out on top against Havana by a score of 69-60.

Hamilton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jadyn Climer, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and 14 boards. With that strong performance, Climer is now averaging an impressive 15.3 points per game. Another player making a difference was Dettriona Church, who posted 14 points in addition to six blocks and three steals.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Abingdon/Avon). They blew past Knoxville, posting a 61-33 win. The Tornadoes have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 24 points or more this season.

Abingdon/Avon's victory bumped their record up to 12-2. As for Hamilton, their win bumped their record up to 10-5.
