Northeastern had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past the Bertie Falcons, posting a 49-0 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Eagles also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2024.

Zak Ishman had an outrageously good game as he threw for 383 yards and six TDs while completing 77.3% of his passes. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (158.1). Northeastern's leading receiver Uzziah Harney was Ishman's top target yet again, picking up 85 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Coming up, Northeastern will square off against D.H. Conley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bertie, they will challenge Martin County at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
