Berwyn/Cicero Morton won the last time they faced Hinsdale South and things went their way on Monday too. The Mustangs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 win over the Hornets. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.

Xavier Valdez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, James Richmond was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Jhon Garces also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Berwyn/Cicero Morton hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in four consecutive contests.

Berwyn/Cicero Morton's record now sits at 7-21. As for Hinsdale South, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-16-1 record this season.
