Softball Recap: Hartford Hurricanes vs. Brattleboro Bears
Hartford came out on top against Brattleboro on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run first inning. The Hurricanes walked away with a 7-2 victory over the Bears. The Hurricanes have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bears, too.

Serenitee Martel spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits and racked up 16 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Faith Brown was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, two doubles, and one run. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in May of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Emmy Whitney, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.
Hartford's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Brattleboro, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hartford will host Bellows Falls at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Brattleboro, they will be playing at home against Otter Valley at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Otters' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Bears' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
