The Lapel Bulldogs will square off against the Elwood Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lapel is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.1 runs per game this season.

Lapel is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Hagerstown just ended the team's 15-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 1-0. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Bulldogs were not able to get on the board.

Lapel saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was AJ Nunley, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Elwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against Tipton, falling 15-3.

Aidan Flanagan was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

The defeat was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 25-2. As for Elwood, their loss dropped their record down to 3-25.

Elwood's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Lapel has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.7 hits per game. It's a different story for Elwood, though, as they've been averaging 8.9 hits. Given Lapel's sizable advantage in that area, the Panthers will need to find a way to close that gap.

Lapel took their win against Elwood in their previous matchup back in April by a conclusive 14-2 score. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
