Baseball Recap: Whitfield Takes a Loss

Whitfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 13-4 to the Priory Ravens. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Ravens this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-4 last Monday.

Mark Portis made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Jackson Bassett also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Whitfield's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Priory, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-6 record this season.

Whitfield will face off against Brentwood at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Priory, they will challenge Westminster Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
