Hoover not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since October 4, 2024 (when they won 42-0). They blew past the Santa Maria Saints, posting a 39-6 win. For the Patriots, this counts as revenge for the 35-27 victory the Saints walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

Hoover's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cam Mobley, who threw for 231 yards and four TDs, and also rushed for 117 yards and one score on only 15 carries. Julian Jimenez was another key rusher, rushing for 175 yards and one touchdown while picking up 9.7 yards per carry.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Hoover was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 307 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

The victory got Hoover back to even at 1-1. As for Santa Maria, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Hoover will be playing in front of their home fans against Bullard at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Santa Maria, they are taking a road trip to square off against Del Oro at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
