Basketball Recap: Drezdon Jensen and Austin Morgan Secure Win for Viewmont

Viewmont posted their closest win since February 20, 2024 on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Woods Cross Wildcats 56-53. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 60-53 back in January.

Leading Viewmont to victory were Austin Morgan and Drezdon Jensen. Morgan posted 13 points, while Jensen went 7 of 12 on his way to 17 points and five boards. Jensen's evening made it nine games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Carson Tovey, who put up nine points and six rebounds.

When it comes to explaining why Woods Cross lost, don't look at Elliot Bendinger. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 boards. The dominant performance also gave Bendinger a new career-high in steals (three). Madden Johnsen was another key player, going 5 for 12 to rack up 15 points.

Viewmont has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a massive bump to their 12-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points over those games. As for Woods Cross, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-8.
