Softball Recap: Heritage Wins Going Away Against Rolesville

Heritage made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Rolesville, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Huskies put the hurt on the Rams with a sharp 11-1 victory on Tuesday. Considering the Huskies have won four matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Emily Claudio was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Those nine strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, three doubles, and one run.

In other batting news, Janiah Vargas was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Lydia Bollinger was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Heritage kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Heritage now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Rolesville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Heritage is set to challenge their familiar foe Millbrook at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Rolesville will square off against rival Wakefield at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
