Softball Recap: Elberta Warriors vs. Rain Red Raiders

On Monday, while Elberta put up plenty of runs, the same can't be said for Rain. The Elberta Warriors were the clear victor by a 17-0 margin over the Rain Red Raiders. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Elberta.

Madison Willis was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Willis was also big at the plate, going 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and a triple.

In other batting news, Brooklyn Bowmar and Gabriela Alanis did most of the damage at the plate: Bowmar scored three runs while going 3-for-3, while Alanis went 2-for-2 with a home run, two runs, and two RBI. Vivie Ward was another key contributor, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Elberta's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-14. As for Rain, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.

Elberta will head out on the road to challenge Baldwin County at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Rain, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Williamson at 4:30 p.m. Rain is facing Williamson at the right time seeing as Williamson is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
