Recap: Poudre Impalas vs. Loveland Red Wolves

The Poudre Impalas entered their tilt with the Loveland Red Wolves with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Poudre enjoyed a cozy 50-32 win over Loveland on Tuesday. Given Poudre's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 101st, while Loveland is ranked 203rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Poudre got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Maggie Foster out in front who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Foster has scored all season. Kavi Voglund was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six rebounds and two steals.

Peri Downer and Beth DeClement certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Downer scored six points, while DeClement scored seven points.

Poudre pushed their record up to 5-5 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Loveland, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Poudre's road trip will continue as they head out to face Monarch at 6:30 p.m. on January 12th. Hopefully Monarch focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Tuesday. As for Loveland, they will be playing at home against Legacy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Legacy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Tuesday.
