Hammond Academy of Science & Tech waltzed into their game on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They blew past the Calumet New Tech Warriors 16-3. The result was nothing new for the Hawks, who have now won four matches by ten runs or more so far this season.

Diego Patino made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over 4.2 innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Anthony Concepcion, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with five stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. Those five stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Austin McKimmy was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.

Hammond Academy of Science & Tech always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .714. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .512 or higher in five consecutive contests.
