Softball Game Preview: San Marcos Rattlers vs. Clemens Buffaloes

The San Marcos Rattlers will head out to square off against the Clemens Buffaloes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

San Marcos came up short against Canyon on Friday, falling 21-3. The Rattlers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Clemens didn't have quite enough to beat Steele on Tuesday and fell 6-5.

Erika Padron was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. Aubry Willmann was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Even though they lost, Clemens was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Steele only posted a batting average of .240.

Clemens has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-6 record this season. San Marcos' defeat dropped their record down to 9-11-2.
