Volleyball Game Preview: Hoggard Vikings vs. Green Hope Falcons + How To Watch

The Hoggard Vikings will face off against the Green Hope Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hoggard is coming into the contest hot, having won their last 21 games.

Hoggard had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Broughton on Tuesday. The Vikings put the hurt on the Capitals with a sharp 3-0 victory.

Hoggard not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Broughton between 14 and 16 points across their sets. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-14, 25-16.

Hoggard relied on the efforts of Lydia Maughan, who had 18 digs and six assists, and Morgan Williams, who had four digs and two aces. That's the most digs Williams has posted since back in September.

Meanwhile, with a playoff win on the line, Green Hope rose to the challenge on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Buccaneers as they made off with a 3-0 win.

Green Hope not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Laney between 14 and 16 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-16, 25-14.

Hoggard's record is now 25-3. As for Green Hope, their record now sits at 22-3.

Hoggard might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Green Hope in their previous matchup back in November of 2019. Can the Vikings avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
