Preview: Hardee Wildcats vs. Lake Placid Dragons
Hardee has played every game this season on their home court, but they'll have to hit the road on Thursday. They will take on the Lake Placid Dragons at 7:00 p.m. Lake Placid took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Hardee, who comes in off a win.
After only 23 points in their last contest, Hardee made sure to put some points up on the board against Oasis Christian on Tuesday. Hardee took their game at home with ease, bagging a 55-12 victory over Oasis Christian.
Hardee's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Rihanna Frederick, who scored 13 points along with 6 steals. Alexandra Jackson was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with 9 rebounds and 6 steals.
Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 16-16 at halftime, Lake Placid was not quite DeSoto County's equal in the second half on Friday. Lake Placid fell 44-37 to DeSoto County. Lake Placid has struggled against DeSoto County recently, as their matchup on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Lake Placid got a solid performance out of Antranique Felton, who scored 13 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals. The game was Felton's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Taraje Walker, who scored 7 points along with 6 rebounds.
The losses dropped Hardee to 1-2 and Oasis Christian to 1-5.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Hardee have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 28.3 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Lake Placid struggles in that department as they've been averaging 23.3 per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
