Basketball Game Preview: La Center Wildcats vs. Kalama Chinooks

The La Center Wildcats will venture away from home to face off against the Kalama Chinooks at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Kalama took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on La Center, who comes in off a win.

Last Friday, La Center didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against King's Way Christian, but they still walked away with a 53-48 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

Meanwhile, Kalama was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a blow against Seton Catholic, falling 93-53. While losing is never fun, the Chinooks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 237th, while the Cougars are ranked 60th).

La Center is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.8 points per game. As for Kalama, their loss dropped their record down to 8-10.

La Center beat Kalama 68-56 in their previous meeting back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for La Center since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
