Baseball Recap: Soledad's Losing Streak Snapped at Seven Games

Soledad not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since February 25th. They put the hurt on the Mission Bears with a sharp 11-1 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Aztecs as it put an end to their seven-game losing streak.

Ethan Sanchez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in nine consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2. Soledad is 2-1 when Sanchez posts two or more runs, but 2-7 otherwise.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Vidal Perez, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one triple. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024. Alfredo Aguliara was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

Soledad's record is now 4-8. As for Mission, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Soledad will host Monterey at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mission, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Washington at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Bears are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
