Volleyball Recap: Appleton West Takes a Loss

Appleton West lost against Appleton East back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Terrors came up short against the Patriots, falling 3-0.

The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-13, 25-20.

Leading Appleton East to victory were Zoe Wockenfus and Izzy Mead. Wockenfus had 16 digs and five assists, while Mead had 11 digs. That's the most assists Wockenfus has posted since back in September. Emma Jacobs also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Appleton West's loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-24. As for Appleton East, their win ended a nine-match drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 10-21.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Appleton West will challenge rival Fond du Lac at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Appleton East is set to square off against their familiar foe Oshkosh West at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
