Softball Recap: Stevens Comes Up Short

Stevens was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They came up short against the Sotomayor WILDCATS, falling 8-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the WILDCATS this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-5 back in March.

Stevens' defeat dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Sotomayor, their record now sits at 8-10.

Stevens and Sotomayor could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Falcons will challenge Harlan at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank disadvantage (754 vs. 58). Meanwhile, Sotomayor (ranked 494th) will meet Taft (ranked 151st) at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
