Preview: Lone Peak Knights vs. American Fork Cavemen
Lone Peak is 10-0 against American Fork since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Lone Peak Knights will be playing in front of their home fans against the American Fork Cavemen at 6:00 p.m. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Lone Peak faced Skyridge in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Lone Peak simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Skyridge 69-30 at home. Lone Peak has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 25 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lone Peak to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sarah Bartholomew, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Shawnee Nordstrom, who scored 17 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, American Fork strolled past Pleasant Grove with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 46-32.
Lone Peak now has a winning record of 7-6. As for American Fork, they pushed their record up to 7-6 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
Everything came up roses for Lone Peak against American Fork in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 59-21 victory. With Lone Peak ahead 34-9 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
