Basketball Recap: Swansea Comes Up Short

Swansea was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 41st straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 105-32 loss at the hands of the Fox Creek Predators. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 275th, while the Predators are ranked 73rd).

Swansea's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zyshawn Jamison, who posted 12 points. That was a full 37.5% of Swansea's points, marking the 11th time in a row Jamison has had more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Donnell Goodwin, who scored eight points.

Leading Fox Creek to victory were Kobe Sims and Justin Vining. Sims went 15-for-23 on his way to 38 points along with six rebounds and five steals, while Vining went 10-for-14 to rack up 21 points in addition to eight assists and eight boards. What's more, Vining also posted a 71% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Gavin Baskett was another key player, putting up ten points and four steals.

Swansea's loss dropped their record down to 0-18. As for Fox Creek, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season.

Swansea has already played their next game, a 76-45 defeat against Newberry on the 13th. As for Fox Creek, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 68-49 win against Silver Bluff on the 13th.
