Preview: Prospect Panthers vs. Pioneer Mustangs
Prospect is 0-4 against Pioneer since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Prospect Panthers will head out on the road to take on the Pioneer Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Prospect is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
Prospect pushed their score all the way to 57 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 70-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Piedmont Hills. Prospect has not had much luck with Piedmont Hills recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Pioneer ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They walked away with a 67-58 win over Lincoln. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Prospect's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-9. As for Pioneer, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-6.
Prospect suffered a grim 64-38 defeat to Pioneer in their previous meeting back in January of 2020. Can Prospect avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
