Baseball Game Preview: Liberty Eagles vs. North Point Grizzlies

The Liberty Eagles will challenge the North Point Grizzlies at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Liberty's hitters haven't had much luck over their past three games, but Monday's matchup will give them a chance to turn things around.

Liberty came into this matchup off a tough six-run defeat on Thursday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Fort Zumwalt East by a score of 3-1 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Eagles have suffered since April 9th.

Meanwhile, North Point faced Lindbergh in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Grizzlies had just enough and edged out the Flyers 12-11. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Grizzlies considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Liberty's defeat dropped their record down to 9-19. As for North Point, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-8-1 record this season.

Liberty beat North Point 6-1 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Grizzlies turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
