Preview: Cumberland Valley Eagles vs. Trinity Shamrocks
The Cumberland Valley Eagles will square off against the Trinity Shamrocks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.
Cumberland Valley scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They snuck past Carlisle with a 83-77 win. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Trinity at home against Tunkhannock on Saturday as the team secured a 69-42 win. Given Trinity's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 95th, while Tunkhannock is ranked 617th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Trinity can attribute much of their success to Reece Brown, who scored 17 points, and Owen Schlager, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Schlager hasn't dropped below 15 points for six straight games. Another player making a difference was Marcus Yeager, who scored nine points.
Cumberland Valley's win bumped their record up to 19-3. As for Trinity, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season.
