Football Recap: Ephrata Starts Season with Victory at Home

Ephrata gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They claimed a resounding 45-6 victory over the Red Lion Lions. Winning may never get old, but the Mountaineers sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row dating back to last season.

Carson Martin went supernova, throwing for 223 yards and four TDs while picking up 10.6 yards per attempt, and also rushing for 57 yards on only seven carries. Those 223 passing yards gave him a new career-high. Josiah Grant was Martin's top target, picking up 89 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Ephrata didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 17-6 win against Manheim Central on the 29th. As for Red Lion, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 42-6 defeat against West York Area on the 29th.
