It may have taken  eight innings to finish the job, but Clarksville ultimately got the result they hoped for  on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Montgomery Bell Academy Big Red by a score of  4-1. The  victory was familiar territory for the Wildcats, who have now won five  matches in a row.
 Kirk Weatherford made a splash while hitting and pitching. He  tossed three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   two  hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  given up  more than two  hits in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate,  scoring two  runs and  stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. That's the most  hits  he has posted since back in May of 2024.
 In other pitching news, Clarksville got a great performance from  Braden Taylor as he  tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off   two  hits.
 Weatherford wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Carter Hedrick, who  went 2-for-4 with two  stolen bases. That's the most  stolen bases  Hedrick has posted since back in March.
Clarksville pushed their record up to 15-4 with the  win, which was their third straight  on the road. The  road  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Montgomery Bell Academy, their loss  ended  a  six-game streak of wins at home  and  dropped them to 8-9.
 Coincidentally, Clarksville and Montgomery Bell Academy will both be playing St. Pius X Catholic the next time they take the field. The Wildcats will  host the Golden Lions at 5:30  p.m.  on Wednesday, while the Big Red will  host them  at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday.
