Volleyball Recap: Strathmore's Undefeated Season over After Four Games

If Strathmore was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Selma last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Spartans lost 3-0 to the Porterville Panthers on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Spartans in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost seven in a row.

While Strathmore ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-23, 25-17.

Hannah Jones paced Strathmore's offense, picking up nine kills. Jones got some help from Pearl Johnson and her 18 assists.

Having lost for the first time this season, Strathmore fell to 3-1. As for Porterville, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Strathmore will host Mira Monte at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Porterville, they will welcome Lindsay at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
