            Softball Recap: Douglas Tigers vs. Spanish Springs Cougars        
        
		
        
        
            It was a proper cat-fight when Douglas faced off against Spanish Springs on Tuesday. The Tigers took  a  7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cougars. That makes it the first time this season the Tigers have let down their home crowd.
 Camryn McLelland was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she  tossed three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   three  hits. McLelland was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run while going 3-for-4.
 In other batting news,  Cameron Coats was cooking despite her team's loss,   going 1-for-4 with one  home run and two  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Ava Gildea, who  went a perfect 2-for-2 with one  RBI.
Douglas'  loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 11-5. As for Spanish Springs, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6-1 record  this season.
 Douglas wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next  game,  a  10-0  victory against Damonte Ranch on the 3rd. As for Spanish Springs, they have also already played their next contest,  a  7-2  win against Bishop Manogue on the 5th.
