Baseball Recap: Apopka Comes Up Short

If Apopka was riding high fresh off their 12-0 takedown of University on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Blue Darters fell 8-5 to the Horizon Hawks on Wednesday. The Blue Darters were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hawks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.

Apopka saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Wyatt Jaggers, who scored a run while going 3-for-3. Another was Ty Livingston, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Apopka's loss dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Horizon, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-11.

Coming up, Apopka will head out on the road to square off against St. Cloud at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Blue Darters' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Horizon, they will challenge Riverview at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
