Football Recap: Port Gibson Comes Up Short

Port Gibson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 49-20 loss at the hands of the Franklin County Bulldogs. The Blue Waves lost against the Bulldogs in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 21-20 score last time.

Port Gibson now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Franklin County, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-4.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Port Gibson is set to challenge their familiar foe Jefferson County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Franklin County will face off against rival Hazlehurst at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
