South Florence's loss ends three-game winning streak at home

It was a good run, but the South Florence Bruins unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of Wilson by a score of 64-61. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for South Florence in their matchups with Wilson: they've now lost eight in a row.

South Florence lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Sy'Ree Livingston, who scored 12 points along with two steals and two blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Jarius Davis, who scored 13 points.

Tristan Thompson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Wilson, scoring 24 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Josh Leonard, who scored seven points along with 11 rebounds and five assists.

South Florence's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-10. As for Wilson, they pushed their record up to 19-4 with that win, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Florence will challenge Myrtle Beach at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Myrtle Beach will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 88th, while South Florence is ranked 33rd). As for Wilson, they will head out on the road to challenge West Florence at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. West Florence is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
