Timberline and Skyview are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2021, but likely not for long. Timberline will be playing in front of their home fans against Skyview at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Timberline is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9 runs per game this season.
Timberline is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Idaho's top teams: Mountain View, who was ranked 16th at the time (Timberline was ranked third). Timberline came out on top against Mountain View by a score of 5-1 on Thursday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Delaney Wright spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up 16 Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ysabela Pereira, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashlyn Graklanoff, who scored two runs and stole two bases.
Meanwhile, Skyview owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over Nampa. The result was nothing new for the Hawks, who have now won three contests by six runs or more so far this season.
The result came thanks to Makenna Shamy's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up six Ks.
On the hitting side, Liv Dean was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Lily Bittinger, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
The victory made it two in a row for Skyview and bumps their season record up to 4-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Timberline, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1.
Skyview's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Monday. Timberline has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 11 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Skyview, though, as they've been averaging only 3 strikeouts. Will Timberline keep running through batters, or will Skyview buck the trend?
Timberline couldn't quite finish off Skyview when the teams last played back in April of 2024 and fell 12-10. Can Timberline avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
